The club has several boats which are used to run racing, providing race management and safety cover to members and visitors whilst they are out on the water.
2012 saw the launch of Oyster, the new RSC committee boat. This 8.25m aluminium catamaran was designed by Bryher Mouldings and built by Pendennis Shipyard. All racing is run from Oyster and she has proved to be very successful as the club's new race boat. Oyster is fully-equipped with twin Mariner 30hp outboards, echo-sounder, GPS, radio, flares, and race flags and equipment.
The echo-sounder on Oyster (and the RIBs) are Nasa Marine 'Clipper' models. These can be affected by reflections from turbulance and bubbles. If they malfunction (e.g. widely fluctuating depth readings,...), it's worth stopping the engines and drifting to see if this is the issue. If not, please go through the setup procedure, when at anchor.
The club also has a number of sailing dinghies that members can borrow. Please the handbook for more details.
The club also has three safety RIBs – two Explorer Marine and one Humber.
